About the AAMA
The
Alabama Automotive
Manufacturers Association (AAMA) was formed in 2001 to provide a forum
for interaction among automotive companies in Alabama, to share information
among its members and to provide an awareness of manufacturing trends,
techniques and concerns.
Objectives:

Improve efficiency and enhance interaction among automotive companies in
Alabama

Conduct activities and programs so members can share information and
become better informed on manufacturing, management and government issues
that significantly impact the automotive industry

Sponsor seminars, workshops and plant tours and disseminate information on
advances in technology and continuous improvement
Since 2001,
OED has executed an intense study of the automotive industry.
Some of her findings include: directs jobs have increased to 30,180 (+12%),
up from 26,924 in 2001. The number of plants increased to 162, up from 116
in 2001.
