About the Office for Infrastructure, Logistics and Transportation
The Office for
Infrastructure, Logistics , and Transportation is working on an
exciting project for the U.S. Department of Transportation to assess and
improve transportation and logistics in the state of Alabama.
The automotive, aerospace and defense, aviation, aerospace and logistics
and distribution industries are growing and transforming the Alabama
economy. Increasingly these manufacturers depend on infrastructure for
international import and export as well as for just-in-time delivery.
Sustaining the growth of these industry clusters requires an adequate
infrastructure, one that includes highway, rail, air cargo and sea.
OILT’s task will include an assessment
of the current infrastructure capabilities to identify the current and
future infrastructure needs of the major industry clusters in Alabama.
Survey results will help us develop infrastructure and transportation
strategies to meet those needs.
